Secretary – General | Ass dr Srđan Mijatović

Dr. Srđan Mijatović is a specialist in general surgery with extensive experience in surgical procedures, particularly in laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. He currently serves as the Chief of Surgery 1 at the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Serbia.

An active member of the Serbian Association of Endoscopic Surgeons, Dr. Mijatović chaired the Second Congress of the Association, held in November last year in Belgrade with international participation. His dedication to educating young surgeons is evident in his organization of basic courses in laparoscopic surgery, featuring leading experts in all areas of this specialty.

Dr. Mijatović’s practice incorporates the latest techniques in minimally invasive surgery. He closely collaborates with European and global associations for laparoscopic surgery, exchanging experiences and staying updated on modern trends in patient care.

Known for his committed approach to patients, meticulous planning of surgical interventions, and continuous professional development, Dr. Mijatović strives to enhance the quality of medical services he provides.

Member | Dr Nebojša Stojaković

Dr. Nebojša Stojković was born in 1978 in Valjevo. He completed elementary school and high school in Valjevo and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2004. He specialized in general and abdominal surgery at the same university in 2013. Dr. Stojković has been working at the General Hospital in Valjevo for 15 years.

He previously served as the head of the Abdominal Surgery Department and is currently the chief of the Operating Block with Sterilization. His surgical expertise includes treating benign and malignant conditions of the digestive tract, hepatoduodenal segment, and pancreas.

In 2018, Dr. Stojković introduced and improved new methods for treating patients with malignant diseases of the digestive tract, particularly through endoscopic, minimally invasive surgery. This approach, which is the dominant method for treating malignancies in modern surgical practice, significantly enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

Dr. Stojković was recognized as a surgical expert and educator in minimally invasive surgery in the field of coloproctology in 2018. Under his leadership, the institution earned the designation of a “reference” center for surgeon education in minimally invasive coloproctology in Serbia. Additionally, he advanced the application of minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of stomach and pancreatic diseases, establishing the hospital as a leader in these innovative methods.

Dr. Bojan Jovanović is a specialist in general surgery with extensive experience working with patients in Niš. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgery.

He is renowned for a remarkable achievement in which he performed two laparoscopic surgeries simultaneously—removal of the gallbladder and appendix. This accomplishment earned him great respect from both patients and his colleagues.

Dr. Jovanović has pursued professional development both domestically and internationally and is the author and co-author of several scientific papers.

Prof. Dr. Miljan Ćeranić is a specialist in general surgery and proctology with extensive professional experience gained in both private and public healthcare institutions.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Ćeranić specializes in laparoscopic and traditional treatment of colon and rectal diseases, as well as the treatment of perianal conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively engaged in teaching and serves as a professor in the Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.

President of UEHS

Prof. Dr. Danijel Galun is a specialist in general surgery based in Belgrade, with extensive professional experience.

His primary areas of expertise include hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, as well as liver surgery. Dr. Galun is proficient in performing TACE (transarterial chemoembolization) for liver patients who are not candidates for surgical resection.
